CAPITALISING ON THE ‘SOCIAL CAPITAL’ THAT WOULD ACCELERATE THE COLLECTIVE WEALTH OF GAZA
Keywords:

This paper investigates the integral role of social capital in Gaza in fostering its collective wealth, proposing a novel framework that elevates its socioeconomic recovery. By synthesizing theoretical insights and empirical research, we examine the dynamic interplay between social capital and collective wealth within various socioeconomic contexts, focusing on Gaza situation after October 2023. The study outlines how social capital enhances Gaza’s community resilience against socioeconomic shocks, including wars, and significantly contributes to sustainable socioeconomic development by facilitating more effective social capital resource management. The paper draws on the published qualitative data on social media about the vibrant social capital of Gaza to illustrate the tangible benefits of social capital in terms of rehabilitating its collective wealth and societal wellbeing. The authors emphasise from this research that the social capital of Gaza can play a crucial role in the rehabilitation and prosperity of Gaza, besides its future viability.
