Medical science has grown tremendously in recent times and its greatest gift given to the mankind is organ donation. Organ donation is the end stage treatment to the organ which needs repair. Healthcare has improved due to the ever emerging development and innovations in the medical field. Organ donation is one such innovation. Donating ones organ to some others body requires a strong will power and courage by the donor. Every year around 5 lakh people die due to organ failures in India. This could be due to accidents or the failure of specific organs. Organ transplantation can help in saving the life of people who have been fighting to survive. Organ transplantation is one of the greatest achievements that modern science has been able to accomplish. Many lives could be saved and significant deaths could be avoided if organ donation is done at the right time. In this context this study aimed to investigate the awareness and attitude of people about organ donation and selected Visakhapatnam city as study area and the people are the survey objectives to study their awareness and attitude in this regard. Thus, 350 samples were selected from all corners of the city and gathered required data from the respondents and processed with SPSS. Hence, it is found that moreover people are more aware about the organ donation and know the importance and significance of it their attitude does not support in this due to social, economical and religious aspects. Therefore, the government and non-government organizations have to conduct awareness programs and education all sections of the people to come forward to donate their organs either by living or after death to balance the requirement and availability of organs to survive the patients who need organs.
