ANALYZING MAHARASHTRA'S HEALTH EXPENDITURE: CURRENT STATUS, KEY CHALLENGES, AND STRATEGIC REMEDIES

This research article examines the trends, challenges, and impact of Maharashtra's government expenditure on health services over the past decade. The study aims to analyze the relationship between health expenditure and the accessibility and quality of healthcare services, while identifying the challenges faced in allocating and utilizing funds. Through both primary and secondary data, the research explores the effectiveness of health sector investments and proposes remedies for improving healthcare delivery. The findings reveal that while there has been consistent growth in health expenditure, issues like delayed fund allocation, inefficient resource utilization, and infrastructure maintenance continue to undermine service delivery. The study concludes with strategic recommendations to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of health expenditure in Maharashtra, ultimately improving the health outcomes for the state's population.
