Abstract

Heat exchanger is a device that is used to transfer thermal energy (enthalpy) between two or more fluids, at different temperatures and in thermal contact. The aim of this project is to design a heat exchanger using HTRI suite software. Generally, they are designed using MATLAB but we are going to use HTRI suite software for quick and neat design. They are designed as per ASME standards. The software used in this report is HTRI Xchanger Suite®. This software is used for thermal design and the heat exchanger design. HTRI’s calculation methods are backed by 50 years of extensive research and data collected on industrially relevant heat transfer equipment. Generally, they are designed using MATLAB but we are going to use HTRI suite software for quick and neat design and the calculations are manually validated and compared with the software output and the 3D design of the heat exchanger is designed. Comparison of the results is made before and after alteration work.
