The concept of Green Human Resource Management (Green HRM) holds increasing significance in today's global business landscape. As organizations worldwide confront the multifaceted challenges of climate change, resource depletion, and environmental degradation, Green HRM emerges as a proactive, strategic approach to address these issues while enhancing overall business performance. Green HRM integrates environmental sustainability principles into HR strategies and procedures, fostering ecological awareness and accountability among employees. The Global codes and guidelines play a pivotal role in promoting and standardizing Green HRM practices across borders. They offer a framework and principles guiding organizations in embedding environmental sustainability into their HR strategies. This is a conceptual paper. It seeks to provide a comprehensive exploration of essential Green Human Resource Management (Green HRM) concepts, survey existing literature, and spotlight contemporary strategies and innovations for the successful adoption of Green HRM practices. It seeks to consolidate global initiatives, codes of conduct, and guiding principles related to Green HRM into a unified framework. The inquiry explores international efforts encouraging organizations to adopt Green HRM strategies, including initiatives like the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), highlighting HRM's pivotal role in achieving environmental sustainability objectives.
