Abstract

This study examines the value-based resilience of the Palestinians during the war on Gaza that began on October 7, 2023. It contextualizes the war as a severe man-made crisis, with a focus on the profound impact on Gaza's socioeconomic and cultural fabric. Despite facing a well-equipped army supported by Western powers and enduring severe deprivations, the Palestinians' value-based resilience has drawn global attention to their plight. Using video content analysis from various Instagram sources, the study presents stories demonstrating key values such as familial bonds, respect, courage, perseverance, and spiritual strength prevalent in the Palestinian community. It highlights the global response to Gaza's adversity, noting a significant shift in international perceptions and growing demands for justice. The paper concludes that Palestinian value-based resilience is rooted in deep cultural and spiritual values. This serves as an inspiring model for enduring and overcoming extreme hardship, emphasizing the importance of global solidarity with such a value-driven community that sets everyday examples of deep values that we miss today.
