A STUDY ON AUTOMATION IN HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY

Abstract

This topic focuses on usage of modern technology in hospitality industry now a day. Before getting into the topic automation in hospitality industry, we have to understand, why this automation has been introduced after covid-19? After Covid-19,using sanitizer and sanitation in Restaurants and other areas in the hotel are made mandatory. Hand sanitizer is kept in the hotel lobby, restaurants and rest rooms. This sanitizer is kept to use by the guests to protect from the virus. This modern service and automation in hotels, restaurants, events, theme and amusement parks, airports, travel agencies and tourist information centers, museums and art galleries were become vital. This paper elaborates on the challenges in the hospitality industry face when adopting service automation and robots to serve guests. However, it is known that there are many artificial intelligence technology is evolving day by day in the tourism sector. From this point of view, firstly artificial intelligence applications and robotic technologies were evaluated, the development of these technologies was revealed, then the current technologies used in the tourism and hospitality industry were examined, and as a result, the future of these technologies in the tourism and hospitality industry was discussed. After the covid -19 slowly some of the leading hotels are upcoming with modern technologies like Robots to secure their guests life and to customize the labor utility. Though the initial investments in the Robots are high, it is order of the day in pandemic situation as well as in derth of right human resource availability.
