Abstract

The concept of employee wellness refers to a person's overall state of mental, physical, emotional, and financial health within an organization. The behaviour of individuals is subject to a multitude of influences, including their interpersonal dynamics with colleagues, the choices they make, and the availability of tools and resources at their disposal. The factors of hours, compensation, and occupational safety also exert a substantial influence on the overall welfare of employees. The aim of this paper is to deepen our understanding of the relationships between high-performance work practices and employee well-being benchmarks for government employees. To identify the factors that affect employee well-being and investigate the effects of a 4-day work week on employee well-being. The findings of the survey were carried out with 620 employees representing six different organizations, which served as the primary source of data. Text analytics with natural language processing (NLP) was used to analyze employee well-being. Websites such as Ambition Box, Glassdoor, Trust Pilot, and Indeed were used to collect feedback. The current study focuses on the institutions that belong to the government rather than the overall breadth of the government's operations. In order to perform the analysis on the data, heat maps and dashboards were generated. The analysis of the 4-day work week revealed that it had a positive impact on the well-being of the employees. The majority of the workers reported an increase in their level of comfort as well as an increase in the amount of time they had available for their hobbies and for spending time with their families.
