Abstract

In the digital age, ransomware attacks have emerged as a severe threat to India's cybersecurity landscape, impacting individuals, businesses, and critical infrastructure. This pre-research abstract outlines a forthcoming study that will investigate ransomware attacks, their legal implications, and strategies for both prosecution and mitigation within the Indian context. A framework for addressing ransomware threats encompasses both prosecution and mitigation strategies in response to these increasingly prevalent ransomware form of cyberattacks. This framework seeks to provide a comprehensive approach to tackle ransomware, with a focus on legal measures and preventive actions. It delves into real-world case studies, analyzes the challenges faced by law enforcement agencies, and offers a holistic understanding of ransomware's multifaceted nature.
