A non-isolated converter is a single switch highly efficient power converter. In this paper non-isolated boost converter configuration is design and control for MPPT with the support of physical model, state space mathematical model, transfer function model with single loop and double control. The system input voltage is varied to get the desired output voltage using small signal analysis. The results of different models are analysed. Mathematical modelling of the boost converter using the small signal state and transfer function has been described and compared with different models. The obtained results, and the suitability of the converter for the MPPT of the solar energy system has been analysed. This paper presents small signal state averaging method for modelling of the boost converter as a time invariant system with the help of set of differential equations which also represent the system working during on and off states. The converter has been analysed in MATLAB
